MISSION STATEMENT

As a body affiliated to the National Mind organisation, we are committed to the principles and policies of National Mind, key elements of which concern empowering service members and ensuring that they have a say in the services they receive and the way in which services are developed, both statutory and in-house. In all the work we do, we are committed to the quality standards laid down by National Mind.

Integral to the work of our Association is the provision of a range of services to support individuals who are experiencing mental health difficulties. These services are flexible and responsive to the needs of our service members, reflecting the fact that it is their needs and wishes which ultimately determine our direction as an organisation and the nature of our activities.

The pivotal influence of our service members is safeguarded through a policy of open communication within the Association. It is also safeguarded through service-user participation in the Management Committee of the Association and in a variety of voluntary roles within the Association, such as developing and delivering services, representing the Association on external bodies and promotional activities within the community.

As part of a spectrum of mental health provision within our local community, we endeavour to work in a positive and co-operative manner with other local agencies for the good of our service members and in the interests of improving mental health in the wider community.

At all times we endeavour to operate in ways which enhance the personal self-worth, development and well being of all those using our services.
