Children's Mental Health

This week is Children’s Mental Health Week! This year, they have chosen a theme of Growing Together with the aim of encouraging both children and adults to consider how they’ve grown, whilst also helping others grow. Place2Be launched Children’s Mental Health Week back in 2015 as a way of highlighting the importance of Children and young people’s mental health.

One in six children and young people have a diagnosable mental health problem, with more also suffering due to things such as bullying or bereavement.

For more information on how you can get involved you can find that here:

At Burton and District Mind, and working with local schools, we offer Young Persons Counselling to help improve the mental health for adults and young people aged 16-18. This can be a way of exploring any issues you may be going through whether that be emotional pain, anger, guilt, anxiety or depression. One of our highly qualified team will be there to support you through it.

The schools we work with include several schools are:

Paulet High School, Stapenhill

The de Ferrers Acadamy Sixth Form, Burton on Trent

Together, let’s make sure Children and young people are getting the help they need.

We also have our Focus on Young People Project
