Introducing Sideways Gaming – Our NEW Tabletop Gaming Group for the Neurodivergent Community in Staffordshire.
We are thrilled to be launching our Sideways Gaming, a brand-new group hosted by our Burton and District Mind Team, offering Neurodivergent people who want to connect, play and unwind in a welcoming, understanding safe space.
This is perfect for anyone who may be interested in Dungeons and Dragons, Cooperative Board Games, or even strategic classics such as Warhammer!
Tabletop Gaming can be such a fun hobby, but it is so much more than that! It can also be an opportunity to provide a truly positive booster for your mental health.

The idea of going out and being social in a room full of people can often be daunting, especially when it's people you haven’t met before. There are so many different avenues to express your creativity through tabletop gaming whether you are crafting characters, designing a whole world to explore or even solving in game puzzles. All of those things can offer a creative escape which in turn can reduce feelings of anxiety whilst encouraging self-expression!

Through roleplaying games like D&D you can experiment with different aspects of your identity, develop your communication skills, and through that gain confidence. All whilst pretending to be a character of your creation, whether that be a wizard, or warrior preparing to go on a daring quest.
Building routine, focus and engagement!

Having these regular sessions can be a chance to foster a positive routine into your week, offering something to look forward to and a much-needed distraction from any day-to-day stress or overthinking.
Sideways Gaming currently meets weekly on Tuesdays from 5pm to 7pm and alternates weekly between D&D sessions to painting minifigures…
