Burton and District Mind are proud to say that are working alongside Heart of Tamworth Community Project to offer a new Safe Haven Crisis Café, which is powered by the NHS.
This Safe Haven can be located at Sacred Heart Church and will be taking place during the following times:
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday – 5pm to 11pm.
Saturday – 9am to 5pm
Sunday – 1:30 to 11pm
What is this Safe Haven?
When it comes to mental health it can be hard knowing who to talk to about what you are experiencing. This could be for a number of reasons such as not feeling comfortable talking to the people around you, not knowing exactly what you are experiencing or even worrying about coming across as causing a hassle.
Through our new Safe Haven, we can offer support in a number of ways in a safe judgement-free zone, where you don’t have to worry about any of the previously mentioned worries you may have. For one, we are here to support you.
The support available through this service includes…
- Offering a safe space to talk. Sometimes just having a conversation about what you are feeling/experiencing in life with your mental health can be a great mode of support. It enables you the chance to maybe express any worries whilst also making sure that you are heard and listened to.
- We can sign post to services available. Sometimes when it comes to mental health, it can be hard to know what services there are and what services are best for you. At our Safe Haven we can help with this by talking through the different services.
- We will support your recovery. It can be a great help to know that there are people there alongside you when you are going through a difficult time.
- Improving your well-being. We will work with you to hopefully help you find ways you can improve your well-being. We won’t offer advice but instead, listen to what you are saying and help you reach those decisions.
