Here at Burton and District Mind we truly do get to work with some amazing local
businesses and organisations. Each of which have done excellent work in helping us be able to continue helping people through many different events and fundraisers. To really highlight this, here are some of the events and such that have gone on already!
Last year we were selected by the team over at Making Trails as the chosen charity for the 2022 Big Burton Carousel. This has been a truly amazing opportunity and we were so happy to see everything come to fruition during the launch event back at the start of the month. We are incredibly grateful they saw the value in what we do here at Burton and District Mind and selected us. With the trail now officially launched and all 30 of the horse sculptures being out and ready to be viewed we definitely cannot recommend walking the trail enough!

Through this experience we also linked up with All Wills and Trusts, who were sponsoring one of the 30 horses. They have since donated £250, and kindly offered to donate up to £20 for each will commissioned to us here at Burton and District Mind. This vital funding will keep our highly valued virtual peer support group going! Thank you so much to them for this sponsorship and support, we really do appreciate it!

Earlier this year, JB Kind chose Burton and District Mind as their charity across 2022-23. Every two years JB Kind select a new charity to support and we are incredibly thankful to have been chosen this year! They have already done some amazing events in the spirit of raising money for us which include a Winter Olympic Sweepstake back in February, an Easter Raffle, Summer pub quiz and are currently planning a JB Kind Charity Golf day in September. Russell Roof Tiles raised over £3000 for us with their Give 4 Good Paddling 210-mile paddleboard fundraiser. That is an incredible amount and a massive accomplishment! Congratulations to their team of 8 who completed this paddle, and thank you so much! You are all amazing and this support will be vital in ensuring we can continue helping and more people.

We also have got to work with the fantastic team over at Finch Consulting who just like us last year, are celebrating their 30th Birthday. Congratulations on reaching such an amazing milestone! They are currently aiming to raise £30,000 over the year through lots of exciting events such as indoor skydiving, The Three Peak Challenge as well as some truly delightful cake bakes. We are truly grateful for the help they have given us so far. They are also currently walking, running and jogging 1000 miles this month and have already raised £430, that is amazing! Burton and District Mind was selected as the charity of benefit for Dave Child’s legendary ‘An Evening with’ fundraising event back in April 2022, where they smashed their £2000 target and reached a massive £2610. Dave is a renown local DJ and avid Burton Albion fan – his evenings are an opportunity to roast past and present Burton Albion players and staff in front of 100paying fans or other interested parties. There was also an auction of signed football shirts and other donated tickets, and a ‘Stand Up Bingo’. The night was a massive success and really showed just how ready we as a community are to start talking about mental health.
The Plough Inn at Horninglow have also raised £1021 for us during the Jubilee Celebrations Week! This was done through a range of exciting activities such as a raffle to win various different prizes as well as a sponsored walk. Thank you so much to their team over there for their amazing work!
We truly are really grateful for every bit of help we receive here at Burton and District Mind. Every year we normally manage to help around 3000 people, but we want and need to help more. To do this we are going to need help. Together we can make sure everyone who needs help will get it. Mental health is something that is everywhere, whether it’s at home or work and that is why our services here at Burton and District Mind are so important.
