Support for your mental health

1 in 4 of us may experience a mental health problem each year, however many people do not know where to reach out to ask for the help and support that they need or may find it difficult to get past that initial stage of asking for help. Through this blog post we hope we can try and show why Burton and District Mind is the place to ask for help, whilst also helping you feel a little more comfortable to talk to us about what you are going through.

At Burton and District Mind, we have covered Staffordshire since 1991. That is over 30 years of doing what we can to help and support our local community’s mental health!

We will not give up until everyone that is experiencing a mental health problem gets both the support and respect that they deserve.

We are very proud of our team, who are all highly qualified and dedicated to making sure they give the best care they can in a completely safe, judgement free zone. All of which you will hopefully get to know more about through our Meet the Team blogs!

Our team would never judge anyone for what they are experiencing/going through, instead we are here to help and support.

Stigmas surrounding mental health can be very dangerous and often be the cause of people not seeking help for what they are experiencing. Whether it be worries on how perceptions from family and friends may change or scared that what you are going through may limit future opportunities in life. These stigmas are something we at Burton and District Mind want to break down. There is nothing wrong with seeking help for what you are experiencing, it doesn’t make you weak. In fact, it makes you brave!

So please talk to us, we are here for you.

We have both services for adults and for young people too!

These include Low Cost Counselling, Holistic Therapies, Mindfulness and Relaxation, Eco therapy and Wellbeing courses. We believe we have something that everyone will find useful!

It is always important to us that everyone who comes to us receives quality help no matter what they are going through. Here is some feedback we received on our counselling services.

“My counsellor took time to understand my issues and how they affected me. I felt that she actually understood how I was feeling. We covered past experiences and we talked about moving forward in a more positive way.

I now like myself, I’m proud of myself and how far I’ve come and I couldn’t have gotten to this point without this amazing service”

And that is just from one person. Having a well-qualified person to talk to about what you are going through and experiencing can be the start to a positive change in life, or even just help make the day to day easier.

At Burton and District Mind, we are the Mental Health Charity across Burton, Lichfield, Tamworth and Burntwood. Please let us be there for you. Contact us at any of the following and together we can start working towards a better future.
